La Sonrisa de Mi Amante es como el Sol or The Smile of My Lover Is As The Sun was inspired by the second movement of Beethoven’s Sonata Pathetique. That pigment of inspiration is used as tool to create a musical painting, which reflects the duality of the Sun and the eyes of a lover. Both can be quite tender at times, but also possess a fiery intensity at others. The work uses various textural changes to denote these conflicting characteristics.
